Integrating technology is the practice of effectively using technology to enhance a learning environment. More specifically, in a middle school math setting, technology integration is essential when presenting students with tangible examples when exploring concepts. Integrating technology means that teachers and students are presented with an opportunity to use and be exposed to concepts and ideas on a daily basis. Teachers should be well trained on the technology itself, its use for the classroom, and its integration into a lesson. Technology should not be a standalone piece in a classroom, but a collaborative effort between subjects, students, teachers, administrators, and school stakeholders. The student’s role in technology integration is to use it to produce quality work that will aid in their understanding of the material and make them responsible contributors to their education.

I think that this is such an important point, and I have seen this to be a common theme among many of the definitions. It's critical to use technology for purpose not just for technology's sake. I like the idea of it being a collaborative effort between all parties involved. It certainly does take efforts from all sides!
